Operator, Investor & AI Partnerships — working at the intersection of venture, technology and frontier AI.

Cameron Kavanagh

About

I'm a London-based operator and investor currently consulting across two fronts: leading AI partnerships at Hatch — connecting frontier AI labs with large-scale human data — and advising at Jelix Ventures, where I sit on the boards of three portfolio companies and support follow-on investment activity. My background spans venture capital, early-stage operations and AI-driven product development, having scaled startups across London and Sydney. I'm most energised working at the intersection of new technology and commercial execution.

Projects

I've always been drawn to building things — turning ideas into products, companies, and communities. Over the years that's taken many forms: some have been acquired, some have generated real revenue, and a few have been spectacular learning experiences. Below is a snapshot of the ones I'm most proud of, though there are plenty more that shaped the journey along the way.

Declan.ai

Interests

Sport

Keen squash player — it's the sport I keep coming back to. Beyond the court, sport is a big part of life in general: tennis, marathon running, and most things that involve competing or moving.

Music

I play in a band — we perform at local bars and gigs around the city. Notable highlight: playing the launch party for an MP. Not your average Friday night.

Scuba Diving

After university in 2016/17, I worked as a Dive Master in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia — taking clients through the reefs and clocking up a few memorable encounters with bull sharks along the way. Still one of my favourite things in the world.

Volunteering

Volunteered at wildlife camps in South Africa with the Wildlife Act, working with critically endangered animals — wild dogs, cheetahs, and lions. One of the most humbling and unforgettable experiences of my life.

Contact

Open to interesting conversations — whether that's a new venture, an investment opportunity, or just a good idea.
